ELECTROLYSIS & BLEMISH REMOVAL
We use Sterex, it offers both short wave diathermy (thermolysis) and the more comfortable blend methods, for permanent hair removal on most areas, eg. upper lip, chin, cheeks, some moles, neck and areola.
Electrolysis is a simple method of hair removal, by inserting a small needle into the hair follicle. It is then treated with either a short wave (heat) or a blend current (heat and galvanic).
Short wave uses one current of heat to destroy the hairs food/blood supply*.
Blend uses two currents making a natural chemical reaction, destroying the hair*.
Treatment is adapted to meet your needs dependent on contra-indications (conditions/ailments) which will be assessed during your consultation.
Certain contra-indications can be treated but your GP’s written authorisation is required.
We wear gloves and all needles used are completely sterile and are disposed of after each treatment.

Spider naevi, also known as spider angiomas or telangiectasias, are common, harmless skin blemishes consisting of a central red dot with thin, red vessels radiating outwards like a spider's legs. They often appear on the face, neck, and upper body and may be a cosmetic concern.
BLOOD SPOT REMOVAL

Commonly known blood spots are called Cherry Angiomas or Campbel De Morgan. They often appear on the torso, neck and chest. Very quick to remove, sometimes they completely disappear otherwise they turn greyish to reduce appearance.
SKIN TAG REMOVAL

Skin tags are benign growths which vary in size, shape and attachment, on the face and body. They are often found in areas where there is friction, such as where the skin creases or clothes rub. Skin tags are increasingly common as we age and affect almost half of the population. While they are benign and do not pose any direct risk to your health, skin tags can easily be removed if they are impacting on your self esteem, comfort or mental well-being.
Heat is used through a sterile needle to' jacket' off the outer skin to then cauterise the core of the tag, preventing it from growing back

There are a few types of warts, including flat, and filiform. They are benign epidermal tumours but contagious yet can be treated. Warts and verrucas often develop individually or in clusters and just disappear. Flat warts occur mostly on the face, backs of hands and wrists. Filiform warts look different than most warts. They have long, narrow projections that extend from the skin. They can be yellow, brown, pink, or skin-toned. Filiform warts are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV).
Like other warts, the filiform variety is a benign growth that can appear as an individual wart or in a group or cluster. warts look different. Hygiene must be of the highest importance to avoid cross infection and if not treated they may spread. Treatment is performed using ACP.

SEBORRHOEIC KERATOSIS TREATMENT

Seborrhoeic keratosis is a benign mass, primarily caused by the ageing process. Also known as seborrhoeic warts, senile warts, barnacles or basal cell papilloma. They have a thick wart-like surface and are usually colourless when they appear and develop to brown to black over time. Seborrhoeic keratosis can be confused with other skin condition
Items to consider before any treatment or procedure:

An example would be any type of heart condition, allergies, circulatory disorders etc.?
Are you preparing for a holiday?
You must have your treatment at least 4 weeks before you travel. The total healing process takes anywhere between 4-6 weeks and sun/sea salt/chlorine may hinder the healing process.
Please note that not all skin lesions can be successfully removed. We will recommend the best method for treatment during the consultation phase. Some blemishes may require a GP’s written consent prior to treatment.
MILIA REMOVAL

White 'milk spots' are removed by thermolysis where a tiny sterile needle is inserted to melt the keratin. Some disperse back into the lymphatic system and naturally clean away. Others will be softened enough to be removed. These annoying, small, hard, round white nodules slightly raised above skin level, formed when keratin is trapped beneath the outer layer of the skin, forming a tiny cyst
All areas of the face and body can be treated along with the orbital area and eye lids
Usually seen around the eyes, including the eyelid and between the eyelashes, nose and upper cheeks.
Milia can appear at any age and often develop when the ducts leading to the skin surface are clogged up
During treatment a ‘popping’ sensation is often experienced as the needle pierces the keratinised centre of the Milia.
1 – 2 days later a tiny crust may form which must not be removed but left to drop off.
Large Milia may require a 2nd treatment 3-4 weeks later, but guided skin care should prevent the need.
